The Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with a private television channel has launched the second phase of the media scholarship programme.
According to a press release, after the success of first phase of media scholarships launched in 2008, in which 10 candidates from across Pakistan were awarded scholarships, 20 more scholarships have been announced for the second batch.
According to a press release, the programme has been designed to target those students who are striving for a better education but lack financial resources.
The scholarship covers the tuition fee for two years of Master’s level degree in Mass Communication, Journalism and Media Studies from any public sector university. The scholarship recipients will comprise 10 male and 10 female students. On completion of their education, the successful candidates will be offered a one-year job contract with the television channel in their desired department.
The deadline for submitting application is February 13, 2010. Daily Times
